Sugi Satay began with a marinade passed between generations — a Malaysian-Indonesian satay recipe that, for years, only ever fed family and friends.
People kept asking. Could we cater their daughter's eighteenth? The office Christmas lunch? A wedding? So in 2014 we set up properly in Burwood, kept the recipe, and started turning out skewers by the hundred.
A decade on, we cater birthdays, weddings, corporate lunches and family BBQs across Melbourne — still cooking the same satay the same way, on charcoal, the morning of your event.
